Mitch Weisbrot joined MassMutual Long Island Metro in May 2011 after a sixteen-year career as a financial representative with Northwestern Mutual. He achieved Top 10 status at his former agency from 2002 through 2010 and assisted in the development of that corporation’s Special Steps program. Mitch is now a Special Care Planner at MassMutual Long Island Metro and currently one of only 265 Chartered Special Needs Consultants in the country.
During a pre-game ceremony at Citi Field on May 8, 2013, Mitch was presented with the “NY Mets Spirit Award” in recognition of his efforts to enrich the lives of individuals with disabilities. He is a member of Sid Jacobson Jewish Community Center’s Special Needs Advisory Committee, the Vincent Smith School Business Advisory Board, and the Autism Society of America – Nassau Suffolk Chapter of New York State.
Parents of children with disabilities face extraordinary challenges and have significant concerns about their children’s futures. As both a financial representative and the father of three boys with autism, Mitch Weisbrot has the requisite professional and personal experience to help families with special needs navigate this complicated estate planning process. Mitch conducts workshops for parents at organizations such as ACLD, AHRC, DDI, Down Syndrome Connection of Long Island, KEEN New York, MDA, Nassau BOCES, QSAC, The Viscardi Center, the Town of Hempstead ANCHOR program and various JCCs, as well as for New York State Senators, SEPTA groups, private schools, and public school districts. He understands that parents of children with disabilities require unique financial guidance to help ensure that their children will be properly taken care of long into the future, and he educates families about making the necessary arrangements for the lifetime of each child.
