Focus: Insurance Strategies, Investment Strategies
Doak Belt’s first passion is his wife Ver and being the father to his two sons, Kaden and Wyatt. His second passion is helping other families make sound financial decision using economic principals and strategies to protect and grow their legacy. Doak comes from a family of small business owners and he was born and raised in Southwestern Colorado in the farming/ranching community of Cortez, CO. Through his experiences, he gained an understanding of hard work, family values and the entrepreneur’s mindset.
Doak graduated from Colorado State University with his Social Science/Economics degree. He entered the financial services profession in 1997.
Doak’s college studies in economics led to him specializing in economic based planning, helping people to understand how to coordinate and integrate all of their financial decisions into one strategic plan, with the idea of helping them to minimize the eroding factors on their money. This includes tax efficient planning to minimize taxes over their lifetime, along with positioning his clients at retirement to create the greatest income streams possible off of the assets they have accumulated. This focus on maximizing the distribution income rates at retirement is a major distinction over the traditionally used accumulation theories.
His personal mission statement states – My purpose is to educate, guide, and counsel my clients to understand economic principles that allow them to live the greatest life possible by protecting, growing and leaving a legacy. He specializes in working with business owners, young professionals, retirees and pre-retirees who have 15 years or less until retirement.
Doak is proud of his service to his clients and his industry. He has been a member of NAIFA (National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors) since 2001, where he served as the President for the San Diego NAIFA Chapter from 2011 to 2012 and served on the board for five years. His proudest achievements have been in his service on the government relationships team, where Doak volunteers his time to educate U.S. Senators, House Members, CA State Senators and CA State Assembly members on the importance of key legislative issues that affect the families he serves. He has been instrumental in defeating bills or potential bills that affect the taxation and planning opportunities that exist for all people in the market place today.
