David Austin is the President and Managing Partner of MassMutual Iowa, headquartered in West Des Moines, IA. Previously, David was a key driver of success while he held the position of Executive Vice President and Assistant General Agent of Minneapolis Financial Group. Prior to that, David provided leadership at Legacy Financial Group, a premier firm in the south Chicagoland area.
Having earned his Bachelor’s degree from Southern Illinois University and armed with his Chartered Life Underwriter designation, David’s focus is to build an organization of champions servicing the state of Iowa.
David and his staff specialize in providing financial service professionals the tools to grow their practice addressing the needs of business owners and individuals with life insurance, annuities and various investment products. David has over 16 years of experience in the insurance industry and is active in industry and community associations. He is a member of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors, is a past board member of the Society of Financial Service Professionals, and has served on the MassMutual Brokerage Director Advisory Committee for multiple terms. David has achieved numerous distinctions, including MassMutual Management Council, and has participated in leading the Minneapolis agency to achieve four MassMutual Chairman’s Trophy Awards.
David, his wife Stephanie and son Richard enjoy spending as much time as possible outdoors. David is an aviation enthusiast and can be regularly found with his son at the local airport continuing the family tradition that started long ago when he and his father received their pilot licenses together.
