My entire professional career has been focused on finding ways to help others.  It was this drive that lead me to dedicate more than 27 years with various nonprofit organizations, helping to support the communities in which I was a member.  During this time, I helped raise over $750 million which provided services for the elderly and indigent, towards educating children, helping to build stronger communities and so much more. But, through that experience, I found that there were inconsistencies with both philanthropists and nonprofit professionals in how they were being serviced by financial professionals.

In 2012, I made the decision to assist those who spent their lives helping others —philanthropists, nonprofit professionals, clergy, etc. So, I became a financial advisor. In 2019, I decided to take the next step towards achieving this goal and launched my own firm, AMIN Financial Planning and Advisory Services.  The word AMIN translates in both Hebrew and Arabic to mean trustworthy and reliable.  Those are two characteristics on which I’ve built my firm.  My focus is on educating and empowering people to help take control of their finances so they can achieve the desires in life for themselves, their families and their communities no matter their situation.

I recognize that preparing for the next step in life isn’t always easy. Sometimes, it can be daunting. “Where do I even start?” is one of the questions I’m frequently asked. My background, experience, and commitment can provide my clients with the resources they may need towards making the financial decisions for a successful financial future. To that end, I pride myself in building personal relationships with each of my clients so that I can understand their individual needs and what matters most to them. This helps me to develop recommendations that are tailor-made to meet their current, and most importantly, future needs.

My focus is to help clients put in place the tools they need to do the things that are most important to them in a manner that they can rely on and trust.  I work closely with my clients, to assist them with:

     Defining their personal financial goals.

    • Developing a financial strategy that can help them achieve those goals.
    • Providing suitable solutions and strategies based on their financial needs and objectives.
    • Implementing those solutions and strategies using suggested products and services.*

I have a BA in Communication from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor and a Masters in Nonprofit Organizations from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. I was an MDRT (Million Dollar Round Table) member in 2018 and 2019.  Prior to starting AMIN Financial, I worked with ALISON-Simplify the Chaos of Wealth (connected to New York Life) for almost 6 years before becoming associated with MassMutual South Texas.  During this time, I qualified for New York Life’s Executive Council on three separate occasions.

I have been very active as a volunteer throughout my career. I have served as the president, president-elect, vice president of communications and a board member of the San Antonio chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals. I also served as a board member for DeNovo Foundation, Torah Academy of San Antonio and Jewish Family Services of San Antonio. I am a die-hard fan of all Cleveland and University of Michigan sports teams. I have been married to my wife, Stacey, since 1991 and am the proud father of 4 children.
