      Adam Claerbout can fully appreciate the sacrifices that physicians must make in their careers. He has his wife, Emily, to thank for that. Being there for Emily through her years of medical school, residency and now as an Emergency Medicine Physician has given Adam a unique perspective on life as a physician and the financial challenges and opportunities for an attending, resident, fellow and medical student. As the founder of Physician’s Wealth Resource, Adam works with physicians across the country the same way they assist their patients. “What unites my role with a physician’s is our real passion to help and care for others,” he says. “Many of my clients are close friends, so I feel compelled to make sure they are taken care of with the same diligence they prepare and care for their patients.” He has a keen understanding of their unique challenges because he and Emily faced similar ones themselves.

      Adam believes that a strong financial relationship for physicians begins in the early stages of their careers, whether it’s in residency or the beginning of practice. He feels that young physicians need an advisor who can help construct vision of their future which can then be executed using the wisdom of his own personal experience. Adam understands that free time is a physician’s most precious asset, so he strives to save his clients time and undue stress in organizing their finances. He understands the nuances his clients face in residency or entering practice and advises them on critical issues such as repaying student loans, managing personal and professional risk, reducing tax liability, and saving for retirement. He takes an objective approach to proposing solutions, which helps to ensure that his clients are protected in the most appropriate way possible at the current point of their careers. In working with clients for the rest of their lives, Adam then revisits the strategies in place to keep goals aligned with changing needs as those careers develop and grow.

      Adam and his team at Physician’s Wealth Resource understand that physicians want to work with those with high ethical standards and tailor their service and even their communication approach to exceed client expectations. Adam works with the busy schedules of residents, fellows and physicians and understands the demands on their time. The PWR team is readily accessible throughout the day and night because they understand what it’s like. They go the extra mile for their clients because they know they need to so they conserve their clients best.

      Adam grew up in Bloomington, IN and graduated from Purdue University with a degree in business management. That makes him a conflicted Hoosier and Boilermaker fan. Managing his own painting business in college (he did everything but accounting and payroll) led Adam to the financial services industry. He was drawn to forming relationships with people, but wanted to help and advise them in the long term rather than in the transactional nature of exterior painting. Today, Adam builds his time around Emily’s schedule. When she’s free, they like playing tennis together and sharing a good meal. When she isn’t, Adam enjoys spending his time with family and friends. He also took up skiing recently. He has Emily to thank for that too.
